Right now I am winging my way to the nation’s capital for the fall version of the Channel Partner’s Show that brings together providers and telecommunications agents for an idea exchange. The show is hosted at the new Gaylord Center, sitting on the Potomac River in Maryland just across from D.C. The show has already raised my anxiety level a little.

The Aloft called and said that they had overbooked by 30 rooms and had to cancel our reservation, along with 29 others. Calmly, we reached out to Starwood’s executive team only to find out that most hotels overbook and plan on the fact that a certain percentage of guests will not show up. Apparently, everyone plans to be at this hotel on these two days, come hell or high water. This wouldn’t be so bad, but
